What do you think the best guild hall is?
Warrior, Wizard, Druid, Dead, Fire, Ice, etc.
Which hall did you pick and why? I want to know which is the best one to get? I like the look of the wizard one. |

Our guild chose the isle of the dead, we asked our members and it won by a large majority.
I just love the gothic castle theme, and whilst it is rather large I've already got used to the layout. (We bought it last night. ) If I was to offer my advice.. You should ask your guild members, and then listen to their opinions on the matter..That is the sign of a fair and decent leader. Have fun with your hall. ~Mimu~ |

We did a poll as well, we ended up with the isle of the dead.....we also liked wizards isle.... I would say, poll your fellow guildmates and see what they think, and think strategy when going in there if your thinking of GvG...

We ended up going with the Wizards Isle. Half because it fit our guild RP archetype, and the other half because it comes with a boat a beach and trebuchets

Still saving up cash but I'm tempted to go with Wizard's Isle. It just looks the most utopian out of all the guild halls .

Hunters Isle because it has a night theme. And we wanted that because we are "Guild of Night"

Is there discussion anywhere about which guild halls are better and why for GvG?
i.e. listings of defense, etc. |

Well, I'll tell you this. The Guild of the Week thing that the GW main site has going, has a wealth of knowledge on these things, it really does. I've been glancing through them myself(can't fully read them all the time, that or I forget to) and one of the guilds they interviewed gave a complete strategic side to their Guild Hall. If that's an example of what the other interviews are like, I'd check that out first, being since those Guilds are Top Notch, and know what's what when it comes to PvP and such.

My guild and I decided on the Druid's Isle. We aren't into PvP at the moment, and thought it had the best atmosphere for RP. We decided it had the best scenery and everyone loved the music. I looked at it from a PvP side as well, and found areas of defense and whatnot.

well, i picked warrior isle cause it i thought it looked the best, but in retrospect, it isnt really all that great in terms of strategy. many guilds have it or have fought in it b/c of the popularity of it. for real home court advantage, pick the ugliest one you can find, that way no one has it, and the other guild doesnt have a clue where to go. i remember just now, we had a battle in the snowy terrain one. our guild was completely lost at first, the other team capped the flag w/o resistance, and we got destroyed in the initial confrontation b/c of the confusion. luckily upon respawning, we found our way around the map and won the battle eventually. but being lost definitely hurt us.

Our Guild Had the Frozen Isle during beta but switched to the Warriors Isle by popular demand of membership at release. However I kick myself everytime we ahve a GvG match now, cause I RARELY get a GvG match on the Frozen Isle, which means not many have chosen it. And it is a good map... Has great Gates and area effects, and its very defendable. IF YOU know the map, which we do from the beta days.
We are currently trying to WIN a Sigil to reward ourselves by switching maps. We are not allowing a purchases this time. Since we already have a Hall that we purchased back in the first week of release, we want to earn a switch of Islands, this time. The new build on the Nomad Isle is also very interesting and not used often. With Teleporters and good places to hide for monks, and ghostly heros. We may use that one for our allied guild. |

Ice, for the simple noone picks it, and so noone knows where the flag stand in.
Whenever we play in our hall in GvG, 9/10 times we get asked "Hey, wheres the flag stand?" |

we chose warrior's.
the path to the guild lord is choked on the stairs, so if we ever need to defend, we have a better chance of laying down aoe in that little area, or deal that extra dmg via rangers becuase of the hight advantage. the others, we saw alot of oopportunity ot gank and be ganked. the guild lord is too out in the open, especially the isle of the dead map. |

we're not recruiting becuase it's too much of a hassle getting in ppl who want to pvp seriously. we have a set of 8-10, soon more, as we'v been training our others in tombs to do 8v8. but, like i said, its to much to train more and try to fit them in a group. we're only recruiting close friends, and family members.
theres 2 situations that we dont want to be in; have too much ppl and can't feild a steady team of 8, or have only 8 ppl and cant field a steady team of 8 due to personal issues. i think we're comfortable at the current number we're at. come stop by our forums though |
